Eyes turn bloodshot and noses dry out as the pollen proves to us just how weak we are in the face of Mother Nature. Try as we will with antihistamines and painkillers, every day is a new battle.

But, it doesn’t have to be this way. Nature might bombard with you with things that will make you sneeze, but she also provides you with a cure. These foods are known to help fight seasonal allergies – give them a go and you might find yourself throwing away those antihistamines for good.

Salmon

The omega-3 fatty acids found in salmon have been shown to ease the symptoms of seasonal allergies. Some people advocate taking supplements to ensure you consume enough of these healthy fats. They also contain quercetin, which is known to reduce histamine reactions. These are what cause you to feel so bad during pollen season. Delicious, fuzzy, and packed with vitamin C, kiwis are a superfood when it comes to helping you fight off your seasonal allergies. Not only will the kiwi keep your body healthy generally, but it can help ease the symptoms of seasonal allergies. If you’re wondering how to include kiwi in your diet, there are several methods you can try. If you like the taste of kiwis, eat it on its own or with a dollop of yoghurt. If you’re not a fan of the taste or texture, blend it up with some other fruit and juice and gulp it down for breakfast.

Kefir

Kefir looks and tastes just like yoghurt but there are some key differences between the two products that you should know about. Turmeric is known to contain powerful anti-inflammatory properties, which can help ease seasonal allergies. The spice can be incorporated into your diet in two ways. The first is to add it into your food. Turmeric goes well with curries, stir fries and any kind of middle eastern dish. The second way is to take supplements.
